Javits hotel plans scrapped

Plans for a hotel across from the Javits Center, a 1,200-room hotel along 11th Avenue at 35th Street, were scrapped earlier this month when Governor Paterson’s administration withdrew its request for proposals and refunded developers’ 250,000 submission deposits. The three bidders were Extell Development, the Moinian Group and FaulknerUSA. A lengthy environmental review and a new RFP is needed before anything can happen on the site.
