Skanska takes floor at Empire State Building

The Post reports that Skanska, the global contractor, will take 24,389 feet on the 32nd floor of the Empire State Building. The firm, which is moving from 136 Madison Avenue, signed a 15-year lease that had an asking rent of $62 per square foot. Louis Buffalino of CB Richard Ellis represented Skanska. The iconic tower is undergoing an ambitious renovation and is reconfiguring smaller spaces to create larger offices. New leases range from $53 to $63 per square foot, up from $32 to $42 per foot last year. Last month, The Real Deal reported that the firm that controls the building planned purchase additional real estate with funds obtained through a refinancing. TRD
