In a sign that the city’s Economic Development Corp. is putting the pressure on the proposed redevelopment of Willets Point, the agency’s president has requested private meetings with city council members opposed to the plans. A letter to the Bloomberg administration last week, signed by 32 of the city’s 51 council members, stated that the project would not be approved unless the use of eminent domain was removed from the plans.
