Contractors cut corners 

As construction costs rise, some builders are cutting corners, and the Consumer
Federation of America says construction has topped the list of the five
fastest-growing consumer complaints. Home inspectors say some new homes are
being built with lower quality materials, and that 80 percent of the repair
work that new home owners have to do can be traced back to those poor quality
materials.
