Kingsbridge Armory starts approval process

The first public hearing regarding the proposed redevelopment of the Kingsbridge Armory in the Bronx will take place tonight. Community members will meet to discuss the size of the area surrounding the armory which should be subject to studies of potential environmental, economic and traffic impact. The Related Companies’ plan to renovate the 575,000-square-foot building, adding big-retailers and a movie theater, needs public approval before it can move forward. The city Economic Development Corporation chose Related to create the mall last year.
