Bloomberg third term could make city greener

A third term for Mayor Michael Bloomberg could help him further some of his green initiatives. In 2007, Bloomberg introduced PlaNYC to reduce the city’s greenhouse-gas emissions (which, in excess, raise the planet’s temperature) 30 percent by 2030. The plan calls for planting more trees and converting taxis to less-polluting hybrid vehicles, and putting windmills on top of skyscrapers. The financial crisis currently demands Bloomberg’s attention, but a third term could help him put the green plans into effect.
