Caribbean businesses in Flatbush band together

The economic crisis is forcing Caribbean small businesses in Flatbush to cut staff and inventory, work longer hours, and seek ways to combine resources, according to the Caribbean American Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The CACCI, which is holding a small business “community conversation” today at the Flatbush Caton Market, says the crisis has caused business closures, staff lay-offs and a fall in retail sales among the Caribbean business community, and many businesses are combining their resources to weather the economic downturn.
