A new report by the Center for Community Planning and Development at
Hunter College claims that City Planning, which is responsible for
reviewing a rezoning proposal, drew “inaccurate conclusions”
in its environmental impact statement for the 111-block rezoning
proposed for the East Village and Lower East Side. The report said the
environmental impact study should have considered a wider area around
the proposed rezoning area.
