Tenants of Trinity House are protesting the sale of the building to the Pembroke Companies, along with Community Board 7 and the Labor Chorus, in front of Riverside Church tomorrow. The Trinity House, at 100 West 92nd Street and Columbus Avenue, is an affordable Mitchell-Lama building that houses 199 families and its landlord, the exclusive Trinity School, plans to sell it to condo developer Pembroke Companies. The city’s Department of Housing Preservation and Development already rejected a school proposal to sell to Pembroke, but the school is devising another plan to sell to the developer. The tenants are making efforts to discuss alternative plans, like a tenant-led buyout that would guarantee affordability for them in the long term. TRD
