The
Italian American Museum
in Little Italy, at 155 Mulberry
Street at Grand Street, opened yesterday. The
museum, dedicated to telling the stories of immigrants who arrived in Little
Italy, is in a building that was formerly the Italian bank Banca Stabile, which operated from
1880 to 1932. The museum will display exhibits and documents found in the building’s
storage basement and safe deposit boxes, including old passports, deeds and
bankbooks.
