Developer Yair Levy has been charged with assault, after he allegedly
struck partner Kent Swig with an ice bucket. Sources say the conflict
concerned a failed project to build luxury condos above two
rent-stabilized, six-story Rental Buildings On Amsterdam Avenue that
they had bought for $54 million in 2005. The plans fell through and
they sold the properties for $61 million this year. The two also
partnered in the $418 million purchase of the 50-story Sheffield on
West 57th Street for conversion to the luxury Sheffield57 project.
