Vantage protesters gather outside Apollo

Around 250 tenants of Vantage Properties rallied outside the Columbus Circle headquarters of the landlord’s leading financial backer, Apollo Real Estate Advisors, on Wednesday. The Queens Vantage Tenants Council organized the protest, which was spurred by Vantage’s alleged failure to address the council’s grievances of poor maintenance, and accusations that it was pressuring below-market-rate tenants out of its buildings. The council represents around 1,300 tenants in 80 Vantage-owned properties.
