Real estate lawyer shot on Long Island

A real estate lawyer on Long Island was fatally shot in the parking lot of a restaurant yesterday, police said. James DiMartino, 44, had recently begun a side business in real estate closings, title searches and high interest loans to people unable to tap traditional credit sources. A friend of DiMartino said he doesn’t believe the shooting was random, and that “he expanded [business] in the wrong direction.”
