Brooklyn Cohousing finds a home

The Brooklyn Cohousing group will be moving into three
buildings being built at the site of Fort
Greene’s former St.
Michael’s church. Cohousing communities
are developments where residents live in private homes, but have common
areas where social activities like meals are shared with neighbors, and the groups make building decisions together, like co-op and condo boards. The three buildings will surround a
7,500-square-foot courtyard, and the group members, comprised of 10 member households and 17 associate households, will share interior common
spaces. The Real Deal looked at Brooklyn Cohousing’s search for a home in
its August issue.
