Carroll Gardens condo not making progress

Construction has
stopped at the former Regency Service Carts
building on Carroll Street
in Carroll Gardens. The city Department of
Buildings granted a permit to build a five-story luxury condominium at
the site
three years ago, but no major work has gone on for more than a year,
and
neighbors fear it will remain an eyesore on the block. The DOB issued a stop-work
order in March when inspectors determined that adding two extra floors
would make the building too dense. An employee who
works for the building owner, Isaac Fischman, said the completion date
for the
luxury condo has not been scheduled.
