The commercial market may be hurting and companies may be
shedding space, but at least one law firm just added to their city
footprint. Fitzpatrick, Cella, Harper & Scinto just signed a
15-year lease at 1290 Sixth Avenue
for 126,000 square feet of space. The law firm will occupy
four and a half
floors at the building, which is at 52nd Street and is owned by Vornado
Realty Trust. The broker, Mark Weiss
at Newmark Knight Frank, didn’t reveal the asking rent for the space,
but rents
in the building are on average $89 per square foot. The firm is leaving its
current space at 30 Rockefeller Center in the third quarter of next
year.
