Sellers less optimistic than last year

To gauge market conditions, New York
magazine had Streeteasy.com compile asking prices for Manhattan condos during the week of November
10. The data showed that the prices were lower than last year at the same time.
Downtown, particularly in Chinatown, the Financial District and Greenwich Village, sellers cut median asking prices by
close to 11 percent. In Midtown, however, condo sellers raised asking prices by 2
percent.
