Residents in East Williamsburg are calling for the city to revise the rezoning of the Broadway Triangle to include more low-income housing, and more towers, if necessary. The city’s proposed rezoning of the Broadway Triangle would create 1,895 new apartments, almost half of which would be affordable housing, but critics say it’s not enough to balance the number of people being displaced by gentrification. The Broadway Triangle is a 50-acre industrial area in East Williamsburg near the borders of Bedford-Stuyvesant and Bushwick.
