The site of the recently demolished Bay Ridge United Methodist Church is up for sale. Developer Abe Betesh is in contract to buy the land for $9.75 million, but a billboard at the site says it is up for sale or lease for school, medical, non-profit or residential development. The site, at the corner of Fourth and Ovington avenues in Bay Ridge, is also currently listed on Massey Knakal’s Web site that indicates it is in contract for $12 million. Residents are worried the site won’t be developed at all, and Pastor Robert Emerick of the Bay Ridge United Methodist Church said that no matter who develops the site, a church is still going to be part of the development plan.
