Toxic gases may be entering Greenpoint homes

Toxic gases may be rising up from below ground into homes in
Greenpoint, Brooklyn. The gases come from dry-cleaning plants and other
manufacturers that once operated out of the area. Officials at the New
York State Department of Environmental Conservation have been testing
around the state for these gases since 2005, but they say getting
residents to cooperate by giving investigators access to their homes is
difficult.
