Commission designates two landmarks

The Landmarks Preservation Commission designated two buildings as
landmarks yesterday, St. Nicholas of Myra Orthodox Church and the
former headquarters of the American Society of Civil Engineers. The
church, at 288 East 10th Street near Avenue A, was built between 1882
and 1883. The Society House of the American Society of Civil Engineers,
at 220 West 57th Street near Broadway, was completed in 1897.
