Jay-Z’s hotel project stalled

The J Hotel at 510 West 22nd Street in West Chelsea, which developer Charles Blaichman is building in partnership with rapper Jay-Z, is one of several hotel projects now frozen because financing has disappeared. Jay-Z already runs a successful nightclub chain. Blaichman is trying to rent out the former Time Warner Cable warehouse that was to be razed for the J Hotel. Blaichman’s Perry Street Hotel in the West Village is also now at a loss for financing.
