Curbed lists top developers of 2008

Curbed lists the Related
Companies as the top developer of the year for building the first new
luxury residential building along the High Line, the Caledonia at 450 West 17th Street, and getting the
development rights to build on the Hudson Yards site. In second place is Rockrose
Development for bringing “Manhattan-type hype” to Long Island City with
the View
building. Douglaston Development was in third place for
building the Edge in Williamsburg. Hotel developer Sam Chang won the “Michael Shvo Gross Overexposure Award” for making the most headlines. Based on a reader survey, Curbed also lists the most
successful flips of the year, and top brokers and celebrities of the
year.
