A Manhattan Supreme Court judge issued a restraining order yesterday on Cipriani Fifth Avenue’s eviction from the Rainbow Room at 30 Rockefeller Center. The order is valid until at least January 27, when there will be a hearing on the eviction in Manhattan State Supreme Court. Landlord Tishman Speyer ended Cipriani’s lease last week, saying the restaurant company owes months of rent on the space. Cipriani said the rent increase and eviction are an attempt to convert the Rainbow Room’s space into offices. Tishman Speyer said it is looking for a new restaurant management company for the site.
