The unit with the biggest price cut in Manhattan today is a four-bedroom, four-bath co-op at 1040 Park Avenue, between 86th and 87th streets, according to Streeteasy.com. The price of the 3,400-square-foot unit, #13F, was cut $950,000, and is now listed at $6.95 million. The apartment, which has a fireplace, originally went on the market in December at $7.9 million. The Corcoran Group’s Heather Sargent has the listing. Conde Nast, founder of Conde Nast Publications, once lived in a penthouse at 1040 Park Avenue, which was built in 1924.

Just one block away, the most expensive apartment to come on the market today is a $25 million eight-bedroom, eight-bath unit at 1030 Park Avenue, between 85th and 86th streets. Prudential Douglas Elliman’s Daniela Kunen and Sabrina Saltiel are listing the co-op unit, #34W. According to Streeteasy.com, the listing was originally on the market for $47.5 million — $22.5 million less than its current listing price — with both Corcoran and Brown Harris Stevens in June 2008. The unit’s price was then cut to $34.5 million just five days ago with Corcoran, but is no longer listed on the Corcoran Web site. TRD
