New York Yankee Alex Rodriguez recently settled for his second choice apartment at 15 Central Park West. He had hoped to check out a $40,000-per-month, 3,103-square-foot, three-bedroom unit owned by steel magnate Leroy Schecter, said Shechter’s agent, Emily Beare of Core Group Marketing. But Henry Silverman, founder and CEO of the Cendant Corporation, rented the unit before Rodriguez had a chance to see it. Rodriguez ended up renting the 2,367-square-foot, two-bedroom unit next door, at a rent of $30,000 per month. Rodriguez is reportedly selling his condominium unit at Trump Park Avenue, at 502 Park Avenue at 59th Street, for $10 million.
