Tenants are hoping to take advantage of the incentives landlords are offering in a declining market. NY1’s Jill Scott spoke to Jake Dardashtian, who lives with a roommate in the Financial District but hopes the recession will help him find his own one-bedroom. Buildings are offering anywhere from two to five months free in rent to lock renters into leases, said Daniel Hedaya, leasing director at Platinum Properties. Deals can also be had just outside the city, including in Hoboken.
