Community prepares to debate Related’s Kingsbridge Armory project

The Related Companies will be appearing before Bronx Community Board 7 tonight to discuss the development of Kingsbridge Armory. Related is planning to convert the 588,000-square-foot building into a $323 million shopping center. Community groups and unions are in favor of the project, which will include a cinema, fitness center and retail space. But the groups and unions are asking the developers to bring in retailers that pay a “livable wage” to employees, which Related said would force it to abandon the project.
