Openings and closings: Henry’s opens, Whole Earth Bakery closes

Menswear company s.kuhlman has signed a lease for a storefront space at 989 Third Avenue at the corner of 59th Street, according to a press release sent out today. Chilean sandwich joint Barros Luco is tentatively set to open by the end of September at 300 1/2 East 52nd Street on the corner of Second Avenue. The Gramercy Park Hotel’s new restaurant, Maialino, is opening at 2 Lexington Avenue between 21st and 22nd streets. On the Upper West Side, Hummus Place has opened a new location at 2608 Broadway between 98th and 99th streets.

Douglas Hannant is opening a new location in The Plaza Retail Collection at One 58th Street on the corner of Fifth Avenue. A new banh mi spot, Henry’s, is slated to open Thursday in Park Slope at 431 Seventh Avenue between 14th and 15th streets. In Red Hook, Fort Defiance Café and Bar is opening at 365 Van Brunt Street on the corner of Dikeman Street. Jersey City welcomed a new Korean BBQ truck, The Krave.

Whole Earth Bakery and Kitchen at 130 Astor Place closed Friday for renovations and has reportedly remained shuttered.  TRD
