Former Amex chairman sells home at 25 percent below asking price

James Robinson, former American Express chairman, has sold his Warren, Conn., home for $5.5 million, a full 25 percent below the home’s $7.35 million asking price. The five-bedroom, five-bathroom, 5,500-square-foot home, which sits on 35 acres of land, sold to architect Santiago Calatrava, who designed the transit hub at the former World Trade Center site.
