Celebrity chef David Bouley, whose restaurants include Danube at 30 Hudson Street and Bouley at 163 Duane Street, has been served with a $1.3 million lawsuit for unpaid rent. Bouley’s landlord, Webway Associates, claims that the chef rented space at 111 West Broadway in October 2007 but never paid the $23,000-per-month rent. Additionally, Webway alleges that Bouley never paid for $600,000 worth of renovations done to the space, including floor and sprinkler repairs. The spot was reportedly meant to house Bouley’s new Japanese restaurant, but the eatery never opened.
