At Bronx Community Board 7’s public hearing last night on the proposed redevelopment of the Kingsbridge Armory, area residents expressed concern that the Related Companies’ planned retail project would take away their jobs. Employees of local grocery stores are worried that the stores would be forced out of business if a 60,000-square-foot supermarket came to the armory. But Ethan Goodman of Related said the project would bring 1,200 permanent jobs to the area and more than 1,000 construction jobs.
