3% of voters think racino deal was fair: poll

Only 3 percent of registered New York voters believe the state made the right choice in Aqueduct Entertainment Group for the new Queens racino deal, according to a Siena Research Institute poll conducted last week. One third of those surveyed believed the decision was politically motivated, while just 3 percent said it was “fair and appropriate.” The rest, 64 percent, did not know enough to make an assessment. AEG’s winning bid has come under intense scrutiny since the surprise decision earlier this month, with both the U.S. Attorney’s Office and the state Inspector General launching probes into the matter.
