City shutters Harlem hostel, stranding 100

The Department of Buildings shuttered a Harlem hostel last night, stranding 100 guests — many of whom were staying there because of the Icelandic volcano. L-Hostel, located at 1961 Adam Clayton Powell Boulevard, had to be vacated because it had only one staircase, the agency’s order stated.
