Wilhelmina Models has decided to renew the lease on its New York headquarters at Rockrose Development’s 300 Park Avenue South and 22nd Street, the New York Post reported. Wilhelmina, an agency which counts Rebecca Romijn among its clients, was set to move to the Meatpacking District or Hudson Square, when Rockrose had planned to let all the office leases at 300 Park Avenue South expire at the end of 2010. The developer intended to convert the 15-story, 175,180 square-foot prewar building to a hotel. Rockrose, now controlled by Henry Elghanayan, later dropped that idea, but still wanted to empty the property as part of its capital improvements program. Existing tenants, including Wilhelmina, hired brokers to find them new space, until Rockrose changed its mind and offered renewals. Ford Models also recently signed a new five-year lease for 11,239 square feet on the
top three floors of 57 West 57 Street, at the corner of Sixth Avenue. [Post]
