A 1,076,164-square-foot office building at 375 Hudson Street in Soho has been awarded LEED Gold certification by the U.S. Green Building Council, developer Tishman Speyer announced today. The 19-story property is the first existing office building in New York City to achieve Gold status through environmentally friendly improvements. Located in the Hudson Square area, with entrances on Hudson Street and West Houston Street, 375 Hudson serves as New York headquarters for Saatchi & Saatchi, Penguin Group and Turner Construction Company. Tishman Speyer implemented several sustainability measures at the building to achieve the designation, including reducing electricity, steam and water consumption, expanding their recycling program and improving air quality through a building-wide green cleaning policy.
