It’s been nearly three years since Dan Doctoroff, deputy mayor for economic development, left office, but he has left behind a legacy of several ongoing construction projects that were launched during his tenure, according to City Limits. Some were completed — such as the two new baseball stadiums for the Mets and Yankees — while others are still works in progress. The extension of the number 7 subway line is on target for a late 2013 opening, while the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership, a quasi-public development corporation formed to oversee the reconstruction of a 22-block stretch in Downtown Brooklyn, is reportedly short on funding. Other projects spearheaded by Doctoroff that are still in various stages of development include the controversial Hudson Yards, the city’s takeover of the Bronx Terminal Market near Yankee stadium and the rezoning of Williamsburg and Greenpoint.
