AKA United Nations, the 20-story executive-stay corporate apartment tower at 234 East 46th Street, is up for grabs and could fetch up to $70 million in a sale, sources told the Post. The building, which is comprised of 95 vacant, one-bedroom apartments, is currently in the hands of Korman Communities, which purchased it for $43.8 million in 2004 after taking over a $30 million mortgage from Gary Barnett and his Extell Development. The property’s 675-square-foot units, which have terraces, have attracted some big names in the past, including Diane Keaton and Maria Menounos. Now a Jones Lang LaSalle marketing team comprised of Richard Baxter, Ron Cohen, Jon Caplan and Scott Latham is hoping to attract bids from hospitals and schools in search of staff housing, as well as other extended-stay operators and developers, the sources said.
