Novogratzes sell Nolita house to Soros’ son

Bravo’s “9 by Design” stars Cortney and Bob Novogratz unloaded their gun shop-turned townhouse at 5 Centre Market Place in Nolita for $11.99 million, according to city records. The sale price was more than $6 million less than the $18 million asking price when it was listed with the Corcoran Group in 2008, the Observer reported. Brown Harris Stevens’ Wendy Maitland and Susan Green took over the listing in May, and the property went into contract last month. The buyer was Gregory Soros, son of hedge fund mogul George Soros. The Novogratzes bought the property — one of four townhouses they bought on the block — in 2004, when it was still a gun shop. Now, the house features Venetian plaster, a terrace with cherry trees and a domed rooftop basketball court. The Novogratz’s East Village penthouse at 238 East 4th Street went into contract in August with a price of $3.195 million. Last month, the couple hired BHS’ Paula Del Nunzio and Prudential Douglas Elliman’s Raphael De Niro to help sell their 400 West Street townhouse. [NYO]
