Bushwick collective’s trailer transformed into vintage store

A month after a trailer belonging to Bushwick Project for the Arts was forced from a Brooklyn warehouse and later from a nearby vacant lot, it has transformed into a vintage clothing store on wheels, according to the New York Times.

Hayden Cummings, founder of the Bushwick art collective, sold the 1972 Continental trailer, via Craigslist, to Tiffany Nicole, for $500 last month. She has branded it the “Mobile Vintage Shop.”

Nicole lost her lease on a clothing store on Greene Street in September amid a dispute with the landlord, but now she does not have to worry about paying rent. She intends on purchasing a pick-up truck to move the shop around Brooklyn.

Last month, The Real Deal reported that 25 trailers were up for sale and that the arts group was searching for new collective residential space. [NYT]
