Once a year, Piero Lissoni’s design company By Lissoni renovates its showroom loft space on Greene Street in time for the annual International Contemporary Furniture Fair. The Real Deal got a look at the space, at 142 Greene Street, which is set up to “resemble his vision” of a New York City apartment, said Pola Bamberg, vice president at By Lissoni, with seating areas, an office, open kitchen, bedroom, glass-enclosed bathroom with walk-in closet and rooftop terrace (see photos by Derek Zahedi above). While the bathroom isn’t functional, the kitchen can be come event time. The furniture is Lissoni-designed and a stylist is brought in two weeks before the show to shop for the decorative items at flea markets. Italian designer Piero Lissoni, who founded the firm in May 2010 with partner Nicoletta Canesi as a full-service design and brand advisory firm focusing on new U.S. condominium projects and hotels, designed the kitchens at the Mark hotel and residences at 25 East 77th Street, and the suites at the Pierre Hotel at 2 East 61st Street.
