Last summer, when millionaire divorcée Cheryl Mercuris agreed to spend a record $500,000 to rent developer Joe Farrell’s Bridgehampton estate for two weeks, or $1,488 an hour, she did it because she was hoping that the location would help her meet men. (She says the dating scene in Tampa, Fla., where she had been living then, is subpar). One year later, Mercuris is living in Manhattan full-time and still single, but that isn’t stopping her from returning to the East End for more. She won’t say whether she’s paying upwards of $1 million for the 14-bedroom, 11.5-acre property, which has a bowling alley, squash court, spa and rock-climbing wall and was once eyed by the Jonas Brothers. Maybe she’ll be luckier in love this time around, but whatever you do, don’t call her desperate. ‘I’m not on a mission,’ she said. ‘If it’s meant to be, it will happen. [Daily Mail via Curbed]
