Brazilian soap star Adriana Ferreyr, 28, filed a $50 million suit against George Soros yesterday, alleging the 80-year-old billionaire slapped and attempted to choke her in a dispute over a $1.9 million Upper East Side apartment, the New York Post reported.

Soros first met Ferreyr in the Hamptons in 2006, and during their ensuing five-year relationship, Soros agreed to buy her an apartment at 30 East 85th Street, according to the lawsuit, two blocks from Soros’ home. Earlier this year, days after signing the contract for the unit, Soros ended the relationship and allowed another woman to take the home. The pair briefly reconciled, the suit alleges, and Soros told Ferreyr he’d given the apartment to another woman. Shortly thereafter, Ferreyr claims, he slapped her, chocked her and attempted to hit her with a glass lamp.

But Soros’ lawyer, William Zabel, said the police investigated the incident and found no evidence of assault, and believes the suit is an attempt to extract money from Soros, who is reportedly worth $14.5 billion. [Post]
