Plans for a $60 million plaza, set to be constructed in front of the Metropolitan Museum has angered neighbors, DNAinfo reported.

The Outdoor Plaza, which will be constructed between 80th and 84th streets, with funding from industrialist David Koch, will become even more of a tourist mecca, Upper East Side residents said. The Plaza will be designed by OLIN, a promising choice, according to an architecture review for the The Real Deal.

“I don’t think it’s appropriate,” Peggy Price, a member of local Community Board 8, told DNAinfo. “This is a neighborhood, not a place to hang out.” [DNAinfo]
