The Smith, a new restaurant and bar with other locations in Midtown and the East Village, has signed a lease for the space previously occupied by Josephina at 1900 Broadway (which closed last August), the same location, between 63rd and 64th streets, where Candle Cafe West, an offshoot of the Upper East Side’s stalwart vegetarian spot Candle Cafe, will also be taking space.

Organic Avenue, another vegan joint, and Jacob’s Pickles, a pub, have also moved into the neighborhood recently, the Post said, and will be joined by Serafina, which will feature northern Italian cuisine, when it opens on Feb. 22. [Post]
