Whole Foods to pop up in town of East Hampton

A Whole Foods Market pop-up shop will be coming to Wainscott, L.I. this summer, the East Hampton Star reported. Though there is no set opening date as of yet, the shop will be open between Memorial Day and Labor Day, according to the paper.

“It’s going to be a farmers’ market,” Michael Sinatra, a Whole Foods spokesperson, told the paper. “We’re very excited about being out there.”

The temporary Whole Foods will occupy the site of a former Ford dealership. The pop-up will be a trial to see if there’s potential for a long-term Whole Foods to take over the lot. Gregg Saunders, who owns the site, has a proposal for a 17,500-square-foot retail outlet at the site currently going through the East Hampton Town planning process, according to the paper.
