For those who haven’t yet seen The Real Deal-produced documentary about the life and work of one of New York’s most prolific contemporary architects, Costas Kondylis, the film can now be watched online in its entirety (see video above). “Treasures of New York: Building Stories,” which was made in collaboration with the New York PBS affiliate Thirteen, explores Kondylis’ inner tug of war between artistry and economy, and it looks at just how hard it can be to erect a new building in New York City.
The film was produced by The Real Deal’s publisher Amir Korangy, and written by Stuart Elliott, the magazine’s editor-in-chief. — TRD
