Man jumps to death from Peninsula Hotel

August 09, 2012 01:00PM

A person identified only as a white male in his 40s jumped to his death from the ultra-luxe Peninsula Hotel in Midtown this morning. DNAinfo reported that he did not work at the hotel, and the New York Daily News said it’s unclear if he was a guest there.

The man’s body hit a Cadillac Escalade parked across East 55th Street from the hotel, badly damaging the passenger side of the vehicle. He died at the scene. A driver was inside the car, but not on the side that was damaged. He escaped without injuries.

The floor from which he jumped in this apparent suicide has not yet been revealed. [NYDN] and [DNAinfo] — Zachary Kussin
