Park Slope’s ‘Squid and the Whale’ home sells for its $3.45M asking price

The Park Slope home that was featured in Noah Baumbach’s 2005 movie “The Squid and the Whale” has sold for $3.45 million, Brownstoner reported. The purchase price matches the property’s asking price.

The listing of the home, at 167 Sixth Avenue, was first reported in June and by the end of that month the brownstone entered contract.

The home measures 3,600 square feet and is three stories high, according to It has an assessed value of $37,290 and a market value of $2.2 million. City public records show the home sold to Marius Meland, who appears to be the owner of Portfolio Media. The previous owners purchased the property in 2007 for $1.6 million. [Brownstoner]
