Former Terzi assistant to withdraw $5M suit

Jack Terzi’s former employee — who once alleged the broker threw scissors at him, withheld wages, and peed on a garment in a $5 million lawsuit earlier this year — now says the whole thing was a “misunderstanding.”

The ex-employee, Albert Sultan, claimed in his August suit that Terzi also sneezed in his face, berated him repeatedly, ran sweatshop-like conditions (including 60-hour work weeks with no sick days or vacations), and did not pay Sultan for six months, all during his three year employment with the Manhattan-based commercial brokerage (note: correction appended).

The ex-assistant’s lawsuit will be withdrawn today.

Sultan will pay Terzi a settlement and issue a statement praising his ex-boss.  Sultan’s statement, obtained by The New York Post, praises Terzi for a “personally and professionally satisfying . . . positive experience,” and apologizes for the “misunderstanding.” [Post] — Jane C. Timm
